Your First Visit

We understand that your first visit to an attorney can be intimidating! Our office is informal because we want you to be comfortable with us and with our staff. We make every effort to meet your needs; if you have physical or other challenges, please let us know so that we can make accommodations as needed. If you need to meet at your home, a hospital, or residential community we can arrange to do so.

Your initial consultation will be much more productive and efficient if we have all the information needed to create an estate plan or analyze other types of representation. Â When you call the office to schedule an appointment, we may ask you to complete our confidential estate planning questionnaire to gather relevant information. Â Please rest assured that the information you provide to us will be held in strict confidence.

You will meet with one of the attorneys during your initial visit so we can get to know you, your concerns, and your goals. We will discuss the various options available to meet your needs and outline the scope of services we can provide. A large part of our initial conference will be educational because it is important to us that you understand estate planning and estate administration and the process we use to accomplish your goals.

We do not offer free consultations for estate planning. However, if you decide to engage us, the consultation fee will be waived. We will discuss our process and our fee structure with you at the appointment, and will then provide you with an engagement letter that sets out the scope of work to be performed, the total fees we will charge, and a variety of ethical matters we want to tell you about.
